Adventboost 2017 – Day 20 & 21 – Ash Hardell & Jessica Kellgren-Fozard

Hey everyone, welcome to another rendition of “Emma was super busy yesterday so she’d posting a two-for-one boost of similar things”. Last night I played D&D and then went for beers and was out waaaay later than I had planned. Oops! But anyway, today I’m boosting two YouTubers:

Ash Hardell

Ash Hardell is queer author and YouTuber who posts videos in a range of topics related to gender, sex and relationships, with a focus on queerness and trans topics though there seems to be videos about other stuff as well. I found Ash’s channel at random a little while back, via Twitter I think but I honestly can’t remember. My entry point was this video on Trans Sex Ed which was really interesting and informative. I’ve only begun to scratch the surface on this channel, and am excited to do a little deep-dive in it shortly now that my term is finally over! There’s a couple of polyamory-related videos that I’m particularly interested in watching! Hm… maybe this shall be what I watch in the bath tomorrow morning…

Ash has also written a book called The ABC’s of LGBT+, and you can follow Ash on Twitter @AshHardell.

Jessica Kellgren-Fozard

Jessica Kellgren-Fozard is a queer (lesbian, I believe, but I could be wrong), deaf YouTuber. As some of you may know, I’ve been learning Swedish sing-language. Wanting to get an idea of what other sign-languages look like, I stumbled upon Jessica Kellgren-Fozard’s YouTube channel. Jessica does videos on a range of topics, including disabilities, deafness, queer stuff and retro/vintage fashion. Watching her videos was the first time I saw British Sing Language (or, rather, a variant on it called Sign Supported English) since beginning to learn sign language which was really interesting and enjoyable to me. There’s a lot of interesting content on her channel and well worth checking out if you are interested in any of the topics. Like with Ash, I’ve only scratched the surface myself so far.

You can follow Jessica on Twitter @JessicaOOTC and also visit her blog here.

I hope you enjoy both these YouTubers. I really need to get more into YouTube! There’s such a lot of interesting content there and so far I’ve mostly been using it to watch funny animal videos, hah!
Also: can you believe it’s almost Christmas? I’m so behind on my decorating this year, I barely have anything up. But on the bright side, I’m basically done with my presents and there’s a bottle of snaps sitting in the patry containing my first ever snaps infusion. Exciting!
